Epoxy floor coating creates a hard, chemical-resistant surface that protects concrete from oil, fuel, transmission fluid, and the moisture cycles common in Davidson County's climate. We install 100% solids epoxy — not the water-based or low-solids products that shrink significantly as they cure. Properly applied over mechanically prepared concrete, epoxy bonds at the molecular level and lasts for many years.
100% Solids vs. Water-Based Epoxy
Most DIY and budget epoxy products are water-based or low-solids formulations. When applied, they contain a large percentage of water or solvent that evaporates during curing — meaning the dry film thickness is a fraction of the applied thickness. 100% solids epoxy goes down thick and stays thick. The bond strength, chemical resistance, and hardness are significantly better, which is why commercial facilities use it.
The Installation Process
We diamond-grind the concrete surface to create the mechanical profile needed for adhesion. We repair cracks and spalls. We apply the epoxy base coat, optionally broadcast decorative chips into the wet material, and finish with a clear polyurea or urethane topcoat for durability and UV stability. The floor is ready for light foot traffic in 24 hours and full use in 72 hours.
